Andy Hass performing at the opening of Songs of the Earth our first museum exhibition of Aboriginal Art in 1995. Andy looks inspired by the paintings.

Andy plays around frequently at venues in downtown Manhattan such as the Knitting Factory, both solo and with cutting edge band leaders such as John Zorn. Andy came out of the no wave jazz scene and is not afraid of experimention in his playing, often incorporating found sound, readings of mystical texts through the instrument, tape loops etceterca. His playing has recently become infused with the cadences and scales of South Indian Karnatic singing.

His CD, Arnhem land, is available as a Japanese import featuring duets in some very unusual contexts, challenging avant garde music.
