15. (DBH1) Eunice Napanangka, 1998, 24 x 24 inches For Sale

Eunice Napanangka is one of a group of predominantly women Pintupi painter's who started painting in the mid 90's at the tiny desert community of Haast's Bluff, not far from Papunya and situated amidst the breathtaking backdrop of the McDonnell ranges. During the late 90's they had a number of influential shows and a number of distinctive stylists emerged as from amongst the larger group.

Here Eunice has depicted Mulga Trees in seed in a naive style at the bottom of the painting, situated around a central waterhole/creek bed, extending into the paintings middle. The breathtaking background dotting represents the seeds of the mulga trees dispersing on the wind and is more than a little reminiscent of Emily Kngwarreye's dotting from around 1990-91.
